so it would be hard for me not to at least address for one brief moment or two that i simply ignored my valentine's post this year. or rather skipped over it. i could claim temporary insanity or a case of lovelornness but i assure you while i may have missed striking a chord with the love lot i was preoccupied with planning an intimate love affair that took place the following weekend. this went off without a hitch i might add. there was no CocoRosie pop~up shop but if you were loitering around nolitaville you might have seen a bit of a twinkle in cupid's eye. don't ever underestimate the power of the sparkle and a girl's night out. this
crew had the magic touch.
it seems this time of year can feel a bit like a limbo dance. you know, the trick is to stay in motion and emerge on the other side of the pole, a balancing act if you will, without being flattened like a pancake. oh and the goal is of course not to make contact with the pole itself. tricky business this business. a hustle for sure. the consults, the proposals, the spread sheets, projections and planning {i could keep going}. there is no magical formula. it requires tenacity, hard work, creativity, and a lot of heart. {i'm sure i'm missing a few} oh yes of course Caffeine!!!
my passion for flowers is endless and if that was all there was to it, well it would be a snap. i also can't say enough about the amazing people i have met and continue to meet along the way. it is the ebb and flow of these relationships that keep me keeping on, making it pretty, one stem at a time, in the concrete jungle that is our beloved backdrop and pushing beyond its borders.
{original name for this post title was -- A Hell of a Hellebore}
also, i have to share one of my favorite scenes from one of my most favorite films. i watched it again last saturday. it makes me laugh and cry and laugh and cry, always, and in no particular order. this one will make you laugh.
